A Sikh marriage with beats of Punjabi dhol, background punjabi music & punjabi singers singing punjabi songs , with dancing gabhru's & mutiar's of Punjab in gidha and bhangra and than the Ghudchadi by Groom, the sarbala, and the Barat moving to wedding place of bride, the Baratis in beautiful Indian & Punjabi attires designed by fashion designers, and a Sikh Marriage - Lavan phere with complete gurmat - the Anand Karaj at a Gurdwara with sikh code of conduct i.e. no kundli, no horoscope, no dowry, no liquor, and in presence of Guru Granth Sahib in between keertan by ragee jathaa ,with complete sikh rahat maryada, and than the Doli, groom taking the bride with him to their house, really very exciting . But Trimmed beards, vanishing turbans, cocktail dinners and partys in banquet halls or farm houses, with hot mujra, gun fires, big pomp n show, big dowry, lavish cars,theme partys & more is the latest in a sikh n punjabi wedding, vyah, shaadi in India as well overseas. Just cant understand why sikh youth trim the beards and remove sohni dastar given by Guru Gobind Singh ji as a virasat to Sikhs .Dont you think its really difficult now a days to locate a Gursikh Guy ,a non trimmer as well non alcohlic for matrimonial purposes. Even in punjab the land of sikh gurus, the turban is disappearing fast.The trend has both shocked and worried community leaders. With 90% of all Sikh families in Punjab with atleast a couple of members without a turban , the panth has reasons for anxiety. It said earlier about Sikh youths ," if you only hear of the number of people heading for the barbers shop."For Sikh youths , Pagdis are not very attractive.Hope sgpc & dsgmc is looking into the matter.
