Ralph Lauren and his family visit Argentina and Uruguay
Added: (Sun Jan 28 2007)
Punta del Este, Uruguay, January 22, 2007. Curiocity custom-designed the first journey to Argentina and Uruguay for Mr. Ralph Lauren’s family and exclusive guests.
The travelling party, which included Mr. Ralph Lauren and wife Ricky, his two sons Andrew and David, Miss Lauren Bush (model and President of the United States’ niece), and Mr. Charles Fagan (President of Polo Retail Corporation), arrived in Buenos Aires on Ralph Lauren's private jet in late December, traveled to Punta del Este a few days later, where they stayed until early January, then headed back to their villa in Jamaica.
Curiocity worked with the Laurens for more than six months in order to put together a unique travel experience, which met everyone’s special interests, such as tailor-made sightseeing and shopping programs, management of business and personal agendas, daily reservations in the best local-cuisine restaurants, dinner parties at local personalities' homes, and the provision of healthy, Mediterranean foods in-house. Aside from that, the Buenos Aires-based travel boutique was also in charge of security for the trip.
The trip required more than fifty people on duty around the clock, including on-site personal hosts, guides, chauffeurs, renowned chef, maids, housekeeper and other in-house personnel, personal escorts, and security teams in each destination.
Curiocity arranged suite accommodations at the Alvear Palace Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a luxurious, eight-suite villa nested over the beach in La Barra, Maldonado, Uruguay.
Among some of the experiences the Laurens loved, were their visits to Palermo Hollywood / Soho, San Telmo, their guided tour of the Pink House, and the Uruguayan towns of José Ignacio, Rocha and Garzón. Their favorite restaurants were La Cabrera in Buenos Aires, and Marismo in José Ignacio, where they received the New Year with Enrique Argüello, Managing Director of Curiocity, and Michelle Cameron, co-owner of the company. With regards to their shopping preferences, some of the places they liked the most were Félix, De María, and Cardón.
Due to the great success of the trip, Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation has asked Curiocity to develop two more tailored holidays for the Lauren family for 2007 and 2008. The Laurens want to experience other fabulous Argentine destinations such as the Lake District, the Glaciers National Park, Mendoza, and the Calchaquies Valleys.
CURIOCITY is a bespoke travel company founded in 2002 by Patagonian native Enrique Argüello and US investor Michelle Cameron. The company specializes in hi-end, custom-designed journeys throughout Argentina and magical spots in neighboring countries.
