Pressbox (Press Release) -
Willows Animal Sanctuary in Gardenstown, Aberdeenshire is a lifelong home to over 300 rescued animals. The inhabitants include horses, guinea pigs, turkeys, sheep, cats and even deer. Willows is a unique sanctuary in this part of Scotland also offering contact with animals to people who find it therapeutic. If you find an injured seabird or wild animal it is reassuring to know that they will be expertly cared for at the sanctuary.
Running such a charity is no mean feat and vet and food bills alone are very high. Willows is dependent on donations from members of the public to meet these costs. The good work they do has attracted donations from well known people such as Paul McCartney in the past. There is currently a campaign to purchase the grazing land at Willows. This land was unexpectedly put up for sale last year. Approximately half the asking price has been raised but a further £20,000 is needed to secure the land for the use of the sanctuary.
Visitors to the area and local residents are able to visit Willows regular fundraising stall at Thainstone Mart in Inverurie every Sunday. The stall sells second hand items such as videos and books as well as new soft toys. Donations of items for sale are most welcome and should be brought to the stall.
