Poetry competition supports anti-crime initiative
Added: (Thu Aug 02 2007)
An online social networking website is supporting a London peace initiative by launching a poetry competition focusing on peace issues.
The Poetry for Peace competition organised by Spiraluniverse, encourages young people and adults to find and use words to seek harmony and promote peace. The competition forms part of the London Week of Peace which is being celebrated in all London boroughs from the 9th - 16th of September.
Keno Ogbo, founder of Spiraluniverse said ‘Poetry can be a valuable tool for young people and adults to explore what peace means to them and to share their views with the wider community.’
The winning poem will be used as the theme of a new interactive online peace campaign which will highlight local and international peace campaigns. The website will be created by Bluhalo, one of the UK’s leading website design and build agencies and will be launched on the 21st of September, which is the International Day of Peace.
The deadline for entry is the 4th of September. You can get more information or enter for free by visiting www.spiraluniverse.org.
