Not Just A Touch- Released

Added: (Fri May 30 2003)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Imagine, if you will, a baby girl born in 1959. During the early toddler years the child was sexually abused and entered into the world of pornography by those she loved and trusted. By the age of three, she had been damaged physically and emotionally, and then placed in foster care with her brothers. The abuse continued because the foster care providers were friends of the family.
Not Just a Touch follows this childhood from continued abuse and pornography to the biggest change of her life. Once called Geraldine, she was turned into a boy at the young age of nine, now called Gerald. The shame and guilt would continue into adulthood, but now the silence has been broken and the truth has been told. Not Just a Touch will leave you with tear-filled eyes and a weeping heart as you take this journey with Gerald and his wife Cheryl. The reader will read about what it is like for a child to be born intersexed and live a childhood of sexual abuse. Gerald Donais is a living testament to the fact that victims and survivors of sexual abuse and unnecessary gender change can still live a full and productive life.
Gerald Donais, born as Geraldine was born in 1959, recently learned about the sadness of his/her childhood. Gerald and his wife Cheryl appeared on the “Montel Williams show” on July 12, 2002 and were featured in local newspapers. Married for 20 years Gerald and Cheryl overcame the obstacles of their recent discoveries and they will work to educate society and the medical profession about intersexed conditions and sexual abuse.
