New Information for Teenage Parents

Added: (Tue Jul 27 2004)

Pressbox (Press Release) - The Maternity Alliance have produced an updated version of their best – selling leaflet Money for Teenage Parents 2004: Your benefits and entitlements. Designed to make the notoriously complex system of benefits for teenagers as simple and as actionable as possible, Money for Teenage Parents builds on the excellent second-tier support service the organisation offers for those working with young parents. Costing £2.00 for advisers, with generous discounts for bulk orders, the leaflet is free when ordered by a young person directly from the Maternity Alliance.

A colourful and comprehensive publication using a question and answer format, Money for Teenage Parents covers what benefits can be claimed by pregnant teenagers and young parents depending on their age, where they live and whether or not they are at school, working or doing a training course and / or have been in care. The leaflet also includes information on recent changes and developments which affect teenage mothers and young parents such as The Education Maintenance Allowance, to be introduced nationally in September 2004, and Care to Learn? support with childcare costs. The leaflet also has an extensive section on where to go for more help.

To order Money for Teenage Parents contact the Maternity Alliances Publications Department on 020 7490 7639 Ext 134, email: publications@maternityalliance.org.uk or log onto www.maternityalliance.org.uk
