Traditional New Year’s resolutions are made with your well being in mind. This year, try helping others and feel good about yourself.
London, United Kingdom – 10 December 2007 – New Year’s resolutions rarely last a week, much less a year. Wouldn’t it be great if there were one resolution that lasted all year, involved a serious amount of retail therapy, benefited charity – and didn’t cost a penny?
In fact the idea may not be as far-fetched as it might seem. With GoodBuying.org you can shop with all your favourite online stores, and when you do the site receives a commission fee (usually about 5%). This fee is then donated to one of three selected charities, which change every month.
There are dozens of retailers participating, including Amazon, eBay, lastminute.com and Thomas Cook. Even better, the site is run entirely by volunteers and not one penny is taken out for administration, site hosting or labour, so you can be sure that the selected charities receive the maximum amount of money possible.
The site was only launched in November and needs your support – it hasn’t raised that much money as yet but the idea is starting to catch on as news of the idea spreads. You can even keep track of the site’s progress as the total spend is published each month, along with the number of visitors the site receives.
