Birmingham V I event to address Black Minority Ethnic and Sight Loss issues

The BME & Sight Loss Conference organised by Opsis, will take place on World Sight Day (Thursday 13th October) 9:30am - 4:00pm at Queen Alexandra College in Harborne, Birmingham.

The conference is a repeat event following the hugely successful and
over-subscribed conference organised by Henshaws Society for Blind People earlier this year.

A further opportunity. "to share good practice and learn more about service
provision for black and minority ethnic children and adults with a visual
impairment".

Topics include - Eye Conditions and People from BME Communities, Improving the Access of Ethnic Minority Visually Impaired People to Appropriate Services and Good Practice in Leicester - Difference in Culture, Religion and Language.

There will be other valuable and exciting presentations to be shown on the
day, including a short film made by Asian blind people called
"Enlightenment" produced by Mahesh Laheru of the Association of Blind
Asians.
