Armenians in Kayseri almost nobody left

Added: (Tue Aug 15 2006)

Kayseri, called Caeserea in the old time, is now a prospering and modern city located in the Central Anatolia. Kayseri is historically known as one of the most important armenian centers.

A very important armenian settlement till the First World War, even after the war Kayseri had several thousands of armenians. For different reasons, the number of armenians of the city has sunk during the years. Now it is estimated that there are only 10 to 20 armenians living in the city. The almost ruined armenian quarters, the church in activity and the armenian cemetery can be visited in Kayseri.

I hope that the Armenian Heritage in Kayseri will be protected. There we need the support of the world.
