Armadillo Merino Launch New Website

Added: (Mon Feb 06 2012)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Armadillo Merino® is a new generation of soft body armour using superfine merino wool that provides superior comfort, protection and performance to professional risk takers.

The new Armadillo Merino® website features the new range of specialist next-to-skin clothing that utilises the unique properties of merino wool. These garments are constructed for demanding environments using a new range of merino performance fabrics that are both soft and strong, and when combined with contoured styling provides a superior next-to-skin fit.

Merino wool delivers comfort and protection on many levels. Merino has natural breathability helping to reduce over heating as well as providing warmth when worn as an insulating layer, it doesn’t generate odour so a garment can be worn for days. Did you now that wool has natural flame retardant properties with a high ignition temperature of between 570C and 600C.
Wool has been highly regarded by soldiers and workmen for centuries as the best performing next-to-skin protective layer because of its unique characteristics and now we have a new generation of fabrics that are super light and super strong. The traditional objections to wearing wool against the skin have long been overcome through the selective breeding of merino sheep producing super fine wools which when combined with innovative manufacturing techniques have created the worlds most technical performance fabrics.

Andy Caughey comments “We recognise the importance of protection, performance and comfort for professional risk takers so our role at Armadillo Merino® is to develop garment styles that help meet the demands of specific tasks towards maximising the operational effectiveness of employees. We also work with companies and organisations to design tailor-made garments using merino fabrics that best meet more specialised industry requirements”.

Armadillo Merino® is an annual renewable fibre that is grown in the high country of New Zealand’s Southern Alps. These are easy care garments that are simple to clean and repair and at the end of the garments useful life can be disposed of safely and will decompose within 12 months.
