An Antidote for Wedding Stress, Wedding Day Disconnection and Post Wedding Blues

Its hard to believe that the potentially joyous life event of getting married and the exciting business of planning a wedding can be the subject of such widespread distress.

Yet, it is true that thousands of brides succumb to months of anxiety and stress as they plan their day with many turning into a monster that they barely recognise. Newly weds regularly report that they spent their wedding day in a disconnected bubble and remember little of the experience. And, we hear that 1 in 10 suffer such a severe comedown from their wedding that they end up being treated for a condition known as Post Nuptial Depression.

In the majority, the real meaning of a wedding and getting married has been hijacked by the quest for a fairytale extravaganza and people are forgetting to look after themselves and prepare for the experience and this major transition in life. Consequently, they feel unable to cope both emotionally and practically. As one bride put it, Ihe thing that you were so excited about, ends up being a great big problem that you just want to get over and done with.

Lesley Stratton Hughes is doing something to address the situation. She is a life coach, based in Brighton and helps people who are getting married to emotionally and psychologically come to terms with the changes involved in Getting Married so that they arrive at their wedding day feeling ready.

She has devised Getting Married from the Inside Out, a step-by-step process of preparation that she originally used herself, to great effect, when she married in 2000.

She said, Im passionate about changing the way that people approach getting married-I want to help them see things from a different perspective and give them an opportunity to get the very most out of the months before they marry and their wedding day.

Getting Married Inside Out Coaching will

l Prepare you emotionally and mentally so you feel ready to get married
l Instil you with confidence and courage to overcome obstacles and anxiety
l Inspire and support you in creating a wedding that reflects who you are
l Help you to be present and in the moment on your wedding day
l Make your wedding journey a positive, rewarding and memorable experience
