Pressbox (Press Release) - Diva Women social website

The internet is a huge place and often very confusing when you are trying to find something that’s not got a specific name or genre.

Everyone is aware of social network groups such as Facebook, My Space and Bebo, you probably have come across a few parenting forums because of adverts in magazines.

However where do you go when you don’t want to discuss pregnancy, babies, breast feeding etc and just want a bit of fun or maybe some feedback about a product from real people? What do you enter into the search box?

Diva Women was set up by Kerry Newton because although much of her 10 years on the internet was spent on parenting sites, she found that all too often women actually just wanted to chat to someone about everyday things like how to cook a certain dish, how to clean the filter on the washing machine, or just generally discuss news items.

Parenting sites have served women for many years, and have saved the sanity of many a post natal sleep deprived zombielike mother, they are a source of good free helpful advice from people who have been there and done that, but on your good day, on the day you just want to have a giggle, or rant about life and the universe Diva Women offers a safe moderated forum to come and chatter. Kerry who has raised 8 children and works from home said “sometimes you just want to let off steam, to rant about the wet towels on the floor, the headmaster or the car mechanic who sucks on his teeth and pronounces your car terminal, but your real life friends are probably busy or at work, and you are at home feeling stressed, Diva’s is somewhere that there is always someone who will read your words and offer a virtual shoulder to cry on, or some good old fashioned advice”

Kerry also said “today there are an increasing number of women working from home, their day might be busy because they have little ones still at home, and still have to fulfil their orders or work load in the same way someone who goes out to work, but they don’t have the advantage of a work colleague to chat to over a coffee”

Diva Woman offers news, stories (often from members themselves) and some fun, people can post as often or as little as they wish, but more importantly it’s free! “We don’t believe people should be charged a fee to join a site where friendship and advice is given freely by its members”
