Pressbox (Press Release) - A fascinating new UK website service has recently surfaced.

Called Shared Interests, it allows you to register your UK postcode and favourite
hobbies & interests. It then shows you others into the same things, in your own
neighbourhood. Currently all free, the site also shows if any relevant clubs & organisations
are to be found on your doorstep.

Conclusions:
Excellent for people moving into a new area trying to find out what's on that interests them
Will aid and encourage the forming (or promotion) of clubs & Organisations
Ideal for rounding up others to make up the numbers for various events or excursions.
