Tsunami ended the Atlantis of Plato, it affirms investigator, and this was in front of Gibraltar.
An investigator affirms that the city of
Plato's Atlantis was devoured by great tsunami that affected the coasts of the
southwest of the Iberian Peninsula and an expert has assured that the Atlantic
coast needs a system detection of giant waves.

Hispanic-Cuban Georgeos Diaz-Montexano (1), has been taking
defending for years the theory that the island or Atlantic peninsula that Plato
it describes next to the "Columns of Hercules" (Gibraltar) and Gadeira
(Cádiz) with the name of Atlantis or Atlantis, it underwent the
consequences of intense earthquakes of marine origin who originated great
tsunami and caused the collapse of an important extension of the Atlantic coasts
of the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula and with it the disappearance of the
Acropolis or city that Plato call Atlantis.
This student of the Atlantis
of Plato leans in the direct translation of the oldest texts known the Plato's
Timaeus and Critias dialogues that are medieval codices written in Greek and
Latin. In these manuscripts affirmations like "seismôn exaisiôn" , that
is translated in Castilian like "of excessive seismos" , that is of
"seismos of great intensity". These seísmos of great intensity - that
were several -, according to Plato, finished "originating a cataclysm"
( kataklüsmôn genomenôn ). Old the Greeks used the word '
kataklüsmos' to denominate to any type of flood of great magnitudes; the
term fundamentally makes reference to produced floods or in constant and
abundant rains or waters of the rivers and seas. The catastrophe of the Atlantis
was the consequence of earthquakes a first and cataclysm or flood later, which
corresponds with the description of a typical process of tsunami, also known
like tidal wave.
"... all the sismologists and oceanographers will now
recognize in these Plato's Greek words one more a description than exact of the
typical process of origin of most of tsunamis, where as a rule first earthquakes
of considerable intensity take place that depending on their nature and position
finish originating tsunami... " explains Georgeos
Diaz-Montexano.
"... Plato locates of way needs the circular
concentric city of Atlantis in some point near the coasts between Gibraltar, the
opening of the Guadalquivir and the coasts of Huelva. All this area is
characterized by its low level of altitude with respect to the level of the sea,
reason why nobody tsunami of the antiquity - of little intensity it even could
cause a true catastrophe that with great probability would cause the collapse of
many coastal cities that were below the 7 meters of altitude... ", thinks
Diaz-Montexano .
The most recent studies made by the
Institute of Oceanography and Expedition TASYO reveal that this zone has been
witness throughout the history (to where has been able to arrive, end of the Age
of the Bronze) of numerous tsunamis and earthquakes, among them the most known
and studied were the one that devastated in 1755 Lisbon, and to almost all the
southwest of the Iberian Peninsula from the Cabo of San Vicente to Huelva,
Cadiz, Chiclana, Seville and the coasts of Morocco. More than 70,000 dead and
countless damages. The level of the sea got superficially to raise - to several
meters and until several kilometers earth inside until burying all existing in
the some regions between Cadiz and Huelva and Atlantic coasts of Morocco.
Situation that lasted many years apparently and created until some salt marshes
that nowadays still exist like witnesses of this tragic tsunami.

to the light of the reunited scientific datas at the moment, it is not possible
to be denied the high existing probabilities that in past times - during the
Bronze Age one has taken place in this same area of the southwest of Iberia some
catastrophe similar to the one of the earthquake and tsunami of Lisbon of 1755
that could cause the collapse of the main coastal cities, among them, the
well-known one by the Greeks with the name of "Atlantis Nêsos" or "Atlantic
Isla/península". Sufficient physical evidences exist that they aim at this
probability and to deny it would be to act like the ostrich, hiding the head
under the Earth... ", comments the Hispanic-Cuban investigator.
They
lack possible scientific studies directed to determine these tsunamis of the
antiquity. In fact to anybody it has interested to dedicate time, efforts and
resources to him apara to try to confirm if such tracks of old catastrophes
seismic-navy are previous to the time of the Phoenicians or if they could have
some relation with the narration of the Island or Atlantic Peninsula that Plato
it exactly describes in this geographic area.
"... Thinks to an
investigator proposing in a University a any thesis or a directed project of
investigation to confirm if earthquakes and/or tsunamis between the Southwest of
the Iberian Peninsula and the Northwest of Africa happened or not at the end of
the Bronze Age that could support (or deny) history on the Atlantis of Plato...
", reflects Georgeos Diaz-Montexano,
with certain skepticism.
Risk of tsunamis in Spain
On the other hand, the Catalan scientist
Xavier Goula affirms that "... the Spanish and Portuguese coasts would
have to count on a system of alert of tsunamis (giant waves) to prevent the
possible consequences of an originated marine seismic movement in zones of risk
like the Spanish southwest... ", declared for the Newspaper of Navarra(2)
the person in charge of the group of sismología of the Catalan Cartographic
Institute.
"... the zone with greater danger is in the Atlantic,
between Gibraltar and Azores, where a plate limit exists that has caused
important marine earthquakes like the earthquake of Lisbon, in 1755... This
marine seísmo, reached populations like Cadiz and Huelva, took place in the
southwest of the end San Vicente, to about 300 kilometers of the coast, in one
of the zones with more risk of the Atlantic... " affirmed
Goula; although other authors think that its epicenter was in the
same Gulf of Cadiz.
On the other hand, Goula insists on
which we must be alert and to take measures on time to be able to face a
possible catastrophe that although nobody can assure when it could happen at any
time. In order to prevent these tsunámicas catastrophes a scientific system
would be needed measurement, something complex, but not necessarily too
expensive.
"... the cost of falsified systems as those of the Pacific
very are elevated, but exists other alternatives less expensive than they could
alert of the risk of tsunamis in many countries... ", affirmed Goula
, that assures that in the case of Spain, the coordination between the
sismográficas and mareográficas stations, together with an effective system of
communication, would allow to warn the coastal populations of the danger of
giant waves or tsunamis.
The Catalan investigator comments who the
calculated frequency of earthquakes usually turns around one hundred years.
Spain already has surpassed east cycle from its last earthquake, reason why a
seismic risk for the next years exists, that would not have to be ignored. In
March of the last year, Georgeos Díaz it made this
same warning in a conference on his theories of the Ibero-Mauretana Atlantis in
the Polytechnical Universidad de Madrid(3).

Nowadays we could avoid another catastrophe as the happened ones in
the Atlantis - and have been hardly being worth simil- in the Asian islands for
