Online Engineering Resource Launch
Added: (Fri May 23 2008)
In today’s hectic work schedule, engineers and managers find themselves continually squeezed for time. They are most likely doing jobs that were done by 2 or 3 people 5 years ago, they have less team members to get more work done in shorter timescales. In this situation, any ‘tools’ that can make life easier and reduce research time have considerable value.
NDO Consultants Ltd have launched www.vibration-test.co.uk to provide engineers, managers and administration staff with a resource that not only provides supplier information but goes much further by providing technical papers, useful website links, exhibition news, publication information and training course details all in one place.
Though carrying the name ‘Vibration-test.co.uk’, the site goes well beyond the vibration test field and covers areas such as Climatic Testing, Multi Axis testing, Test Services, Calibration, CAE (Computer aided Engineering), Condition Monitoring, Sensors and Signal Conditioning.
‘From our own experience we know that there has been a requirement for this site for many years,’ says Neill Ovenden, NDO Consultants Ltd. Managing Director,…..’search engines are great and the various industry bodies have their place, but they only meet part of the requirement, having all the information in one place is the key to saving time. We know that if you are involved in one area of product design or development then you will also have an interest in others, hence the broad coverage on the site.’
Though covering a range of engineering related topics the site is still focused in two key respects, it is a UK based site and is centred on the Product Lifecycle Management sector. This is the sector in which NDO Consultants work and it is the area that has provided their 60+ years experience, so they are well qualified to determine the needs of the market.
As well as the information on the site there will be a monthly Newsletter with the latest Engineering news, product releases, technical links and training information, this will be free to receive and registration can be made on the website or by emailing info@vibration-test.co.uk
Neill Ovenden continues...’Of course the site is only as good as the information it contains and this is an area that will be continually developed. We will keep the site up to date and we welcome feedback, links, technical papers and any other relevant information that engineers would like to send in. We have kicked off the process and we look forward to working with the marketplace to develop the site into a truly valuable asset for everyone to use.’
If you have a paper that would be of use on the site or if you have a useful engineering link please send them to info@vibration-test.co.uk
