Pressbox (Press Release) - New Global Interactive Community for Cytology and Related Disciplines

Birmingham, 18 May 2005, The new Cytology Forum on academici.ac is an example of what targeted interactive networks can achieve. It has facilitated the rapid development of a multi-disciplinary group including laboratory scientists, clinicians, mathematicians and computer experts (from the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway and other countries). This group is discussing questions and issues surrounding Cytology and its application, like “Does anyone have any ideas on how we can objectively define the cellularity threshold for LBC cervical samples?” or “I am interested in the potential use of decision support systems in pathology?”

The questions and issues like “screening and interpretation of SurePath cervical samples”, “LBC screening tips” or “Fractal geometry as an objective means of quantifying nuclear shape and chromatin texture” are being discussed by experts on the Cytologists Society’s brand new forum on academici.ac at
https://www.academici.com/net/cytology/

The first global academic network hosts the Cytology Forum, and provides the online technology for interactivity. Membership to academici.ac is free. To join the forum, post questions or contributions first follow the invitation link to academici.ac from the contact hub Cytology:
