CREOCEAN measures up for success at Oceanology 2008

CREOCEAN of France, a specialist in taking measurements at sea, will be part of the French Pavilion at Oceanology 2008, which will be held in London from 11 to 13 March. The company, which is part of the SCE Group, has 60 years’ experience in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), mapping and modelling.

CREOCEAN carries out regulatory and impact-assessment studies for local authorities, companies and ports into the health and safety implications of coastal developments. The company also provides geophysical and seabed-mapping services, including bathymetry, geological and sedimentary surveys, seabed cartography (seismic or side-scanning sonar), and coastal assessments and protection.

CREOCEAN provides environmental monitoring and management services, such as studies concerning the impact of urban waste, and petrochemical and aquacultural activities. It also offers biocenotic mapping and mapping of the sensitivity of the environment, and can provide inventories of marine heritage and resources. The company also establishes and operates monitoring networks and environmental management plans.

CREOCEAN carries out hydrodynamic and engineering studies, such as the measurement of currents, swells and tides; modelling and assessments; feasibility studies; project management; consulting on port works, maritime and waterway civil engineering; and coastal defence and dredging.

The company also monitors coastal development and the associated economic impact, including leisure boating and yachting, marinas, water sports, cruise liners and ferries, industrial harbour areas, services and activities related to port developments, and seaside resorts and beaches.
