Fridge Alarm
Two Dimensional Instruments LLC, (2di), Crestwood, KY, announces its upgraded firmware for its Fridge Alarm. Changes made to the Fridge Alarm have been made in response to user request to improve the usability of the product.
The 2di Fridge Alarm is most often used in laboratories, hospitals, and manufacturing plants to monitor and alarm refrigerators. In addition to logging the temperature history of the refrigerator it also triggers an auto dialer and internal alarm if the temperature moves outside the safe zone. The alarm points can now be set for a high and low temperature and a dwell time. The Fridge Alarm displays an electronic chart showing a complete temperature history of the refrigerator.
The new firmware version 2.2.8 adds much more flexibility in the alarm dwell time, improves the response time for the internal alarm, and simplifies the internal menus.
The high low alarm can now be set to respond after a time period between ten seconds and twenty-four hours. This is an improvement over previous versions that incremented the dwell time based on the data storage rate. This means that the fridge alarm could trigger an alarm if the temperature rose above 5°F for more than ten seconds. Or to filter out false alarms the fridge alarm could be set to only trigger an alarm if the temperature rose above 41°F for more than twenty minutes.
The user menu structure has also been simplified to improve usability. The alarm settings can now be accessed from within each sensor menu and the calibration data entry menu has been moved to the system parameter menu.
2di is a manufacturer of unique data logger and data viewer products. They have been in business since 1999 serving the medical and manufacturing markets.
