‘One Tweet For Yes…’ – Public to contact departed showbiz stars via first Twitter-powered interactiv

To mark Halloween 2009, the UK’s leading costume retailer, Angels Fancy Dress (www.fancydress.com) is holding a ‘Tweance’ – the world’s first interactive Twitter Séance – to allow users of the social-media service the chance to nominate departed stars or public figures that they would like to see contacted, along with a relevant question, and then monitor in real-time the progress of the resulting Halloween séance. The ‘Tweance’ will be conducted by leading psychic Jayne Wallace – famous for having contacted the spirit of Jade Goody in a séance organised by The Sun – who will question four departed spirits as nominated by Twitterers.
The public is invited to tweet the name of person that they would like contacted, along with one question that they want posed, to @tweance (with the closing date for submissions on Friday 23rd October). On Monday October 26th, the shortlist of departed figures that have received the most nominations will be announced, along with a larger list of questions which might be put to them. The séance will be conducted between 10am and 12pm on Friday October 30th with questions and responses being tweeted in real-time from @tweance (http://twitter.com/tweance) and broadcast live at www.fancydress.com/tweance.
How the Twéance will work:
• In the run-up to Halloween, members of the public are asked to nominate one departed celebrity to be contacted, along with a question to be put to them, by tweeting to @tweance
• The four most popular nominees will be announced, along with a shortlist of questions, on the Angels website – www.fancydress.com – on Mon Oct 26th
• Jayne Wallace will then communicate the questions on the morning of Friday October 30th with both questions and answers being relayed live to all those following the @tweance Twitter account or the live feed on fancydress.com
