"Desert Heat" joins the Iraqi Liberation Movement
Reno, Nevada, October 7, 2003 - Author Kristie Leigh Maguire is doing her part in helping to liberate the women of Iraq.
A Christian Kurdish woman who lives in Kirkuk, Iraq recently purchased her novel, "Desert Heat". Gladys (last name withheld to protect her identity) said, "When I read 'Desert Heat', it gave me goose bumps! I enjoyed it even more during the second reading. I intend on reading it again and again."
An American woman working in Kirkuk, Iraq purchased three of Maguire's novels: "Emails from the Edge: The Life of an Expatriate Wife", "Desert Heat" and "No Lady and Her Tramp". She said, "After I finish reading 'Emails from the Edge', I am going to send it back to the States to my mother."
"Desert Heat" is the first novel in the romantica series, Affairs of the Heart. "Emails from the Edge" is based upon a true story of an American woman living in the Land of the Rising Sun. "No Lady and Her Tramp" is a romantic comedy that Maguire co-authored with Mark Haeuser.
In addition to being a published author, Maguire is the founder of the NUW (Not the Usual Way) Independent Authors Community. She is the President and CEO of Global Authors Publications, Inc.
