From the director of Kidulthood comes Everywhere and Nowhere, a London-based Asian youth drama described as 8-Mile meets Monsoon Wedding.
Menhaj Huda’s Everywhere and Nowhere is a powerful, gripping and funny coming-of-age story which forces into the open the volatile secrets that lie beneath the surface of a comfortably-off British Asian suburban family. The shocking truth emerges when young brother ‘Ash’ decides to stand up to their head-strong older brother and head of the family in his struggle to follow his true musical passion, blending the soundtracks of classic Bollywood movies with contemporary hip hop.
The cast includes James Floyd (Tormented, The Infidel); Jimi Mistry (East is East, The Guru); Faran Tahir (Iron Man, Charlie Wilson’s War); and re-unites actors Noel Clarke and Adam Deacon from Kidulthood. Critically-acclaimed composer Nitin Sawhney (The Namesake) is producing the soundtrack. Richard Johns and Stella Nwimo are producing.
Momentum Pictures have acquired UK rights to Everywhere and Nowhere. Momentum’s recent releases include The Men Who Stare At Goats, Milk, Let The Right One In, Happy Go Lucky, 44 Inch Chest and Young Victoria. A promo reel for Everywhere and Nowhere will be available from early 2010.
Stealth Media Group (SMG) is an all-rights film distributor and international film and television sales company. Juan Vista Neis is located in LA with Jason Piette and reports to the Joint CEO’s, Michael L Cowan and Sean O’Kelly.
