On Call Communications Offers Free Demonstrations of High Definition Satellite News Gathering at Satcon 2009
News stations and engineers will have the opportunity to ask questions about and test IP based satellite news gathering systems at the Satcon 2009 show in New York City, October 14-15 in booth 701. On Call will demonstrate HD SNG services on their QuickSPOT ultra portable 96 cm Fly and Drive satellite antenna system.
October 8, 2009, Foothill Ranch, CA : Engineers and operations professionals who have been curious about IP based video encoding will have the opportunity to test various encoding rates on IP video encoder and decoders in both high definition and standard definition MPEG-4 on site using a live camera.
The video encoders have been integrated into the 96 cm QuickSPOT satellite news gathering system, a very compact configuration designed for use on small SUV's or mobile news gathering operations. The IP based system also includes internet access and IFB compatible voice lines for a complete communications system. Standard definition systems are upgradeable to high definition in the future for an easy and affordable migration path.
QuickSPOT mobile satellite communication systems help news stations deliver breaking news faster with their fully automated operation, which allows a non-technical operator to be on air and ready to transmit broadcast quality video within 5 minutes of arrival on scene.
"From the compact size to the efficient operations, we've focused on making SNG easy and affordable for news stations. The QuickSPOT system offers exceptional value for our customers." says Jim Gilbert, CEO of On Call Communications
On Call invites attendees to participate in the demonstration in booth 701.
Free registration for the show is available on On Call's website www.occsat.com
