KPA’s Source of Strength

Added: (Sun Apr 15 2007)

Pressbox (Press Release) - The trust and affection of Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il of the Korean People’s Army for the soldiers are extraordinary.
One day he said to the KPA commanding officers:
“I regard the soldiers, people in arms, as my revolutionary comrades sharing the same idea and purpose, beyond the relation of military positions of the Supreme Commander and the soldiers. I have boundless affection for them.”
Possessed of the comradely attitude towards soldiers, he always inspects army units to promote them and bestow great favours.
Whenever he visits he looks around company bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms and storehouses to see if there’s any inconvenience about their life. He even asks after their parents at home and takes photographs with them. His affectionate love for the soldiers is, indeed, beyond the parental one.
Years ago he visited the women’s battery on the east coast of Korea and looked after the everyday life of women soldiers like their father. He was sorry about their sunburnt faces and hands chapped in cold weather. After he returned he told KPA commanding officers to send them medicated creams.
He later visited the company again, true to his promise with them, when the persimmon trees at the post were heavy with ripe fruits. He had photographs taken with them.
Once when he inspected a frontline unit on a height and had pictures taken with soldiers there, he knew a soldier stayed away on duty. It was high time to leave, but he was afraid that the soldier would feel very disappointed. He summoned him and had a photograph with him alone.
Such anecdotes are numerous.
His boundless love for and trust in the soldiers are the source of their strength.
The KPA officers and men are ready to defend their Supreme Commander at the cost of their blood, holding him in genuine, high esteem. Surely, Kim Jong Il deserves their devotion to him.
There is no match for the Korean People’s Army that is tied closely with the Supreme Commander.
