JADA Press Announces June 2005 Author of the Month
Dr. Patricia Daly-Lipe has been selected as JADA’s Author of the Month for June 2005.
Dr. Daly-Lipe has an impressive educational background which greatly reflects in her four publications: Forbidden Loves, Paris Between The Wars; Nature’s Wisdom; Myth, Magic, & Metaphor; and La Jolla, A Celebration of Its Past.
Born in California, Patricia spent an equal amount of time living near her grandmother in Washington, D.C. and considers herself bi-coastal. Her college education began at Vassar College, where she earned a degree in Philosophy. She then studied Philosophy in Belgium, earning her diploma at the Catholic University of Louvain. Her education prepared her well for her first job as a reporter for the Evening Star Newspaper in Washington, D.C.
After marrying and having three children, she became a single parent and began Skip A Rope Farm, a Thoroughbred horse business in California. After moving the business east, she had the opportunity to complete her studies earning a Masters Degree. She later earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Humanities, specializing in Creative Arts and Communication. During this period, she taught at various schools and colleges and wrote for an online magazine and a monthly periodical.
In 2002, Patricia was elected President of the National League of American Pen Women, La Jolla Branch. She also was the recipient of the “Woman of Achievement Award in 2004, La Jolla Pen Women NLAPW” based on the publications, La Jolla, A Celebration of Its Past and Forbidden Loves.
An award winning author and artist, she now lives in Haymarket, Virginia. She continues to write and paint, as well as ride and show her horses.
