Highend Magazine appoints editor

Highend magazine, a recently launched monthly publication distributed to workers in the City of London and Canary Wharf has appointed George Shaw as its editor. Early editions were confined to recruitment ads. The magazine is a hard copy manifestation produced to drive traffic to the recruitment site www.HighendJobs.co.uk.
With a 100,000 circulation - 80,000 free distribution and 20,000 copies mailed to named individuals - Highend will serve an audience of affluent business professionals with consumer-led editorial; focusing on food and drink, property, fashion, health and beauty, travel and cars as well as covering business and recruitment issues.
The current edition features an article on how to negotiate a pay rise written by Chris Leeson, Operations Director of accountancy and finance recruiter Nigel Lynn.
George Shaw was previously Editor of Capital Life magazine and the Islington Restaurant Guide. He trained as a journalist with BBC Radio and has worked on Mini-Cab News and Nine to Five magazine. He has also held board level positions in advertising and PR and is a former director and founder of Islington recruitment consultancy Media Contacts.
"Despite the doom and gloom in much of the media (much of it selective and over-stated for sake of a cheap headline), we're finding companies at the luxury end of the market doing a brisk trade," said Shaw, adding, " We're in an age of growing disparity between the "Haves" and the "Have Nots", and whatever the ethics, our audience is drawn from the former camp."
