Grandparent going political

Added: (Fri Apr 13 2007)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Grandparents Apart Self Help Group Scotland has just lost its chairperson Jimmy Deuchars to the Scottish Senior citizens Unity Party (SSCUP) as a list candidate for Glasgow. As well as the Manifesto jimmy will carry on with his personal issue to try and influence change in the unfair Family laws which causes misery to thousands of families. Jimmy and his group were instrumental in creating the ‘Parenting Agreement’ and the ‘Charter for Grandchildren’ with the Scottish Executive but he was disappointed when it was for advisory only. He now hopes to have it made legal.

Jimmy says “A union with pensioners, older people and grandparents could be just the job to swing the Grey Power vote in our direction concentrating mainly on their type of issues unlike other parties who try to please all ages and seem to forget the promises when elected.

Grandparents can be as young as 35 but must look now to the future to ensure decent treatment and SSCUP is the party to do it.
