World leading management publisher, Emerald, adds
Handbook of Business Strategy and Journal of Business Strategy
to its Management Stable

UK, 9 October, 2003. The Handbook of Business Strategy and Journal of Business Strategy have been acquired by Emerald, leading international publisher of management journals.

Journal of Business Strategy
Editor of the journal, Nanci Healy, has 25 years of public affairs and communications experience and worked for companies from Chase Bank (now JP Morgan Chase) to Bankers Trust Company (now Deutsche Bank) as well as her own consulting practice. She says, “We plan to build on the established strengths of the Journal of Business Strategy and, of course, make it even better. We expect to broaden coverage and readership to Europe and Asia and to include a mix of contributors, from business executives to consultants and academics.

“I am finding the resources provided by Emerald to be outstanding. As an editor, I find their databases and expertise as publishers of over 140 journals a vital source of information and contacts. Authors/contributors to JBS can also access the ManagementFirst Internet site, where they will find extremely useful content.”

Written for senior managers, the Journal of Business Strategy provides in-depth articles that help the reader develop successful business strategies. Each issue focuses on the practical applications of business theory, covering a host of topics on areas such as strategy, planning and business development (from forecasting to trend-spotting and competitive intelligence). 2004 articles include Not Taught in Business Schools: Cultivating Creativity and Communication with Cojones*. Columnists are respected thought leaders who comment on topics from marketing and governance to performance measurement.

Providing incredible value for money, the Journal is currently available at £99 plus VAT for a year’s subscription, which includes access to Emerald’s ManagementFirst online information resource for managers. The Journal is one of 17 in Emerald’s ManagementFirst ‘Strategy’ collection.

Handbook of Business Strategy
Published annually, the handbook summarises current strategic management issues in one comprehensive reference book.

Editor, Patricia Soule Cote has written for major business publications from The Wall Street Journal to Bankers Magazine and worked for Citigroup, HSBC and JPMorgan Chase. She comments, “Because it is published yearly, the Handbook of Business Strategy can move with the times, providing articles on cornerstone strategic theory and practice. Marketing, branding, leadership and growth strategies are covered as well as articles on newer strategic areas essential to any business including Knowledge Management, corporate governance, working with consultants and CRM.

“Emerald is increasingly attracting leading authors and we ensure the articles in the handbook are written by top executives for top executives – from senior executives to company presidents, CEOs and MBA students. The articles focus on deriving practical implementation as an outcome by providing practical management advice.”
