Pressbox (Press Release) -
Former England football captain STUART PEARCE has donated 100 copies of his autobiography PSYCHO to the BOOKS FOR THE BRITS! appeal.
The donation was made on Wednesday (31 Oct) via the publishers HEADLINE who added an additional 400 different titles to boost the appeal even further. Speaking yesterday, campaign organiser DOUGIE BRIMSON, said 'As a football fan, I am especially delighted with this as Stuart Pearce has always been something of a hero of mine. And having read the book myself, I know it will be extremely well received amongst the lads in the front line'.
With the appeal gaining strength by the day, the total figure looks set to break the 40,000 barrier with news that LITTLE BROWN have joined the list of contributors. Further information regarding their donation will be made once details have been finalised.
A second consignment of books will be delivered to the Army for onward transit to the region today (Friday 2 Nov) with further deliveries planned for next week.
