Body-building, gnomes and tedium on new webzine
Added: (Mon May 14 2001)
The Mighty Organ has attracted some of excellent travel and feature writers
by providing them with an opportunity to publish pieces they would not
normally get commissioned to write. The launch issue has a photo essay on
paragliding Iranian women; articles on body-building in Cambodia, the art of
tedium, garden gnome politics, Andaman Island pygmies, geese in guerrilla
warfare, the tradition of serious jokes, and an insider's view of the making
of a cult film; short stories; reviews; spoof advertisements; and much more.
Neither the contributors nor the editors - a small group of UK-based writers
- get a cent for contributing to a site described by Newsbytes.com as having
"a blissfully cynical view of modern life."
