VWV LAUNCHES NEW STRATEGIC MARKETING INITIATIVE
Once again at the forefront of strategic and innovative communication, VWV Interactive has launched a new mobile marketing initiative – Mobile Direct Marketing (MDM), which allows for relevant permission based messages to be delivered to an opt-in community in a one-to-one or one-to-many environment.
“Although SMS technology has been around for some time, VWV has partnered with technology partner Clickatell to package the technology with sound strategic planning. This offers a permission-based marketing strategy that guarantees delivery to the recipient, monitors the date and time and carries its own branding on the cell screen instead of the sender identity. This allows for an immediate and measurable response from the target market,” says Louis-Marc Germishuys of VWV Interactive.
“This means VWV Interactive is able to offer targeted and relevant communications for its clients to their community. This is not just an SMS .We abhor spamming and are determined that it will never creep into any organisation. The success of MDM is reliant on communicating relevant information to individuals who have invited and expressed interest in a particular subject.”
According to VWV Interactive, Clickatell was selected as its technology partner in this venture because it has established itself as the leading global turnkey SMS solutions provider, who has earned client registrations from 182 countries and offers ease of integration via five gateways. Whilst VWV will be using its well-respected strategic expertise to craft tactical and synergistic communication plans, Clickatell will facilitate message dissemination via its suite of communications and marketing technologies.
Eager to be aligned with innovation and be the first to take up the technical advantages of this pioneering communications technique is Bayer Crop Protection who will use it for effective mass distribution of news relevant to its community of farmers across the country, to stay in touch with employees and suppliers, and announce event updates, product specials, weather alerts and internal staff messages – all at a fraction of the cost of a mobile voice call.
“What MDM means to us, is that we are able to deliver direct messages to targeted segments of our clientele and staff via bulk, individualised broadcasting of SMS messages at the click of a button from within our own premises. We can speak instantaneously to a particular group of people in a specific location any time of the day, retain their business and earn their loyalty. It is a cost saving way of communicating saves time,” said Marketing Manager of Bayer Crop Protection, Dr Peter Thompson.
“We are anticipating phenomenal success for clients who embrace MDM, particularly as the bi-directional functionality of the product accommodates a call to action and immediate response from the targeted market in the near future,” said Louis-Marc. “Ultimately it is a serious business decision to adopt this new communication protocol. We’ve made these decisions before in business by adopting fax, e-mail, Internet and mobile phones. Now; its all about M-Business. Conservatively by 2003 M-Business will account for approximately $66 Billion in global revenues, ”
Mark Steinhobel, Chairman of the VWV Group is extremely bullish about this project. “MDM is a call to action from client and measure of response. In Europe in August of 2000 there were nine billion SMS sent, in March of 2001 twenty billion SMS were sent out of Europe. I believe that Mobile Direct Marketing is merely the first phase in an incredibly exciting full-blown M-Business programme. Bayer Crop Protection have made a strategic decision and aligned with us: we are seeing a new culture of communication, that is quiet, direct and cost effective.”
