Lauren Peters Joins Industry Visionaries at Conference for PR Professionals
Austin, TEXAS (October 16, 2001) – Lauren Peters, president and founder of PetersGroup Public Relations, a high-tech integrated communications firm, will lead a roundtable discussion on “Evaluating Potential Clients for Longevity and Success” at the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) 2001 International Conference. The conference, “The Power of PR in a Changing Marketplace,” takes place October 27-30, 2001 in Atlanta with Peters’ session scheduled for Tuesday morning, October 30, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
The annual conference will include professional development offerings in the major areas of public relations including strategic planning, crisis communications and issues management. Selected from more than 350 submissions, Peters’ session will arm PR professionals with the tools they need to make smarter decisions as they develop new business. Peters’ session will specifically focus on identifying sound clients, retaining business and philosophies on releasing business. The overall discussion will help provide innovative tools for the business strategist.

In light of the recent terrorist attack, PRSA added a session, “Beyond September 11th : A Conversation about the Role of Public Relations in Building a More Tolerant World,” featuring panelists from the Association of Arab Writers, Zayed University, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait Information Office, Japanese American Society of Colorado and Howard University.
