Press Release - Thomas Cook Window Displays go Digital

Added: (Thu Jun 05 2003)

Thomas Cook has moved from ‘print to projection’ in their Dudley and Bluewater stores as a part of a rollout to 100 stores over the coming months.

The solution developed by Remote Media, replaces hand written holiday offers and printed posters with a 120” Digital Image located in the window of the store. Holiday availability and offers displayed are linked directly to the Thomas Cook database and updated automatically every 20 minutes over an ADSL connection, with local offers and Managers Specials updated in-store by the Store Manager.

In addition to the live data feeds, other content displayed includes Videos of holiday destinations provided by Thomas Cook TV and advertisements provided by PosAd, the media sales company appointed by Thomas Cook for the digital window project.

David Mortimer, Business Operations Manager for Thomas Cook commented, “The solution provided by Remote Media revolutionises the way we communicate with our customers. For the first time we can provide ‘up to the minute’ latest offers in the window based on availability throughout the Thomas Cook Group.

By moving to digital signage we have increased the credibility and accuracy of our offers to customers and greatly enhanced the quality of our in-window displays.”
