==================================
Famous .VN domain names registered through HI-TEK
Competition of fame and prestige is a high priority for corporations when quality of products and services reaches a common level. Therefore, in regards to building and protecting fame, prestige plays a decisive role for enterprises. Domain name registration is considered an efficient way for enterprises to carry that out.
A domain name is a name used to identify one's IP address on the Internet. In the tangible, physical society, everyone has an address or house number. In the digital world it is the domain name; it is your identity on the Internet/cyber-society.
With the Vietnamese Network Information Center's (VNNIC) declaration of Decision 92/QD-BBCVT/2003, the opportunity of registering .VN (Vietnam) domain names has been opened to all participants in the economy. As a result of Decision 92/QD-BBCVT/2003, the amount of enterprises whom are registering .VN domain names through Hi-Tek Inc ( www.VN ) has increased tremendously. Of them, there are many large and well known companies worldwide who have registered .VN domain names. Enterprises such as Wal-Mart Stores, Inc (131), Verizon Trademark Services (43), SONY (21), and Roll-Royce (14) have all made multiple registrations with Hi-Tek Inc. to protect their .VN digital identity and establish their brand integrity in Vietnam and Asia.
The .VN domain name offers diversity that allows registrants to choose from extensions that will best suit their business or profession: .com.vn and .biz.vn for business or commerce; .edu.vn for education; .gov.vn for Vietnamese governmental agencies; .net.vn for network organizations; .org.vn for political-social organizations; .int.vn for international organizations in Vietnam. Domain name registrants are given the chance to freely choose suitable types of domain names.
However, there are some cases where the holders' applications have not been approved for use. An example of this is Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Wal-Mart had interest in registering their domain name and variations of it with the .gov.vn domain extension: retailing.gov.vn , walmart.gov.vn , wal-martvietnam.gov.vn , samclub.gov.vn , sams-club.gov.vn are domain names that were not permitted for registration. Wal-Mart Stores is a legal corporation, but .gov.vn is only for Vietnamese governmental agencies, under Decision 92/QD-BBCVT/2003. Another example is the case of Playboy.com.vn and Playboy.net.vn by Playboy Enterprise International, Inc. These domain names were not permited to use because of their sensitiveness to Vietnamese habits and customs, according to Ministry of Culture and Information.
Whether a domain name is approved or not, such typical examples indicate that registration of .VN domain names for building and protecting fame and prestige have been of interest to most enterprises'. P rotect and market your companies' digital identity by registering .VN with Hi-Tek – the Official Authorized Global Marketer and Registrar for the country's code top level domain name .VN by Vietnam Internet Network Information Center, at www.VN .
