The Legal Deed Service Save Pudsey This Christmas

Pressbox (Press Release) -
Jamie Jackson, Chief executive of name change firm The Legal Deed Service, is set to save Pudsey this Christmas after their rival firm The UK Deed Poll Service refused to cough up the £4000 promised to a mum-of-two who changed her name to Pudsey bear by deed poll, dubbing their treatment of her as ‘inexcusable’.
It was reported earlier in the week that The UK Deed Poll Service’s chief executive Mike Barratt, had confirmed that he had not paid £4000 to the children’s charity after 37-year-old Eileen De Bont a dental nurse in Denbigh, changed her moniker to Pudsey after it was claimed she failed to inform the ‘relevant bodies’ after breaking her back ten days ago, including the DVLA and UK passport office.
A devastated Eileen, now Pudsey, after the name change, reportedly said earlier this week that, Mr Barratt had “No empathy for my situation and says until every single changed document has been seen by him he will not pay the £4,000 donation to Children in Need and won't give me the money he promised for my children’s Christmas presents.” After he had promised her a further £1000 for her trouble.
As a direct result of the story appearing in the press, chief executive of The Legal Deed Service, Jamie Jackson is keen to step in and right those wrongs, he said, “I read the story in the paper and just could not believe that they are not willing to pay Eileen the money she is owed, it really is inexcusable. It can take months for your name to be changed on all of the relevant documents, and they would have known that. As soon as she had signed the deed poll confirmation, her name change would have been official; this means that she did change her name as promised and therefore deserves the fundraising money.”
Mr Jackson from the name change firm with offices in Islington, London and Market Drayton Shropshire said, “At The Legal Deed Service we think that the treatment that Eileen has received is shocking, especially because it is for such a good cause. As a result we have said that if the money is not paid out to Eileen as promised by Christmas Eve, we will pay her £1000 to give to Children in Need and we are also going to give 15 per-cent of our week’s profits to Children in Need next year as well. We are four times cheaper than the UK Deed Poll Service, despite providing the same service and are one of the only providers of name changes by deed poll for just £10. So we are therefore offering Eileen the same percentage of takings as Mr Barratt.”
The Legal Deed Service who recently changed 19-year old George Garratt’s name to ‘Captain Fantastic Faster Than Superman Spiderman Batman Wolverine Hulk and the Flash Combined’ giving him the longest name in the world, are one of the market leaders in conducting name changes by deed poll. So far this year have changed a staggering 16,000 names, some serious, some off the wall!
