TEAM WORKING COMES TO THE FORE AS BEACHCROFT WANSBROUGHS ROLL OUT WINSCRIBE ACROSS THE UK

Added: (Mon Sep 12 2005)

London, 12 September 2005 – Top 25 national law firm, Beachcroft Wansbroughs, has announced that it will have rolled out the WinScribe digital dictation system to all 10 of its offices by January. The solution, supplied and supported by WinScribe’s exclusive UK Platinum Partner, SRC, has reduced document turnaround times by over 20%, cut backlogs and dramatically increased team working across the firm since it was introduced.

The WinScribe system has already been rolled out to 7 offices, bringing the total number of users to over 600, with just Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester now remaining.

Describing the business case for rolling out WinScribe firm-wide, Jeffrey Ng, Beachcroft Wansbroughs’ Information and Operations Director, said, “The benefits have been numerous and significant. Not only have we not needed to recruit secretaries as the firm has continued to grow, but we’ve also been able to improve support ratios and have introduced much greater levels of team working between offices.”

“For example, because of absence and holidays, our Clinical Risk team in Winchester had been experiencing quite a backlog. The WinScribe system allows all work to be allocated and prioritised automatically regardless of location, which meant that the team’s colleagues in Bristol were easily able to assist in completing this work.”

Mr Ng explained that digital dictation is a key component in the firm’s wider strategy of creating a virtual office environment by encouraging more flexible working practices and breaking down barriers between offices.

“The firm is committed to deploying innovative technologies to enable all our staff to work effectively and remain productive whether working in the office, from home or on the move. In terms of realising the potential of remote working flexibility, the WinScribe system is spearheading this strategic direction,” he continued.

Lesley Turner, Beachcroft Wansbroughs’ National Facilities and Purchasing Manager, who has been closely involved in the roll out of the system said, “I can honestly say we haven’t had a single problem during the whole roll out, which is astounding for a project of this size.”

“Our investment in SRC’s deployment services, which range from lunchtime workshops that introduce users to the concept and benefits of digital dictation, to project management, training and support services, has certainly repaid in terms of minimising disruption and ensuring rapid acceptance by our fee earners and secretaries,” she continued.

In addition to Beachcroft Wansbroughs, the SRC WinScribe solution has also been rolled out by numerous other top 100 law firms, including Irwin Mitchell, CMS Cameron McKenna, Dickinson Dees, Walker Morris, Hill Dickinson, Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, Morgan Cole, Pannone & Partners, Hugh James, Donns and Ward Hadaway. SRC is WinScribe’s exclusive UK Platinum Partner and WinScribe is a member of the Legal Software Suppliers Association (LSSA).
