International law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed partner Mark Raymont to join its award-winning international construction group in the UAE. Raymont's experience covers a wide range of contentious work for those operating in the construction, energy, oil and gas sectors. Raymont is relocating from Pinsent Masons' Hong Kong office where he spent five years advising on a number of major construction and engineering disputes in that region.
Raymont is joining the team of 26 lawyers based in Pinsent Masons' Dubai office with a remit to continue the expansion of Pinsent Masons' contentious practice in the Gulf. His appointment caps a successful 2009, which saw the team named top advisors for construction law in the UAE.
Sachin Kerur, Pinsent Masons' head of office in the UAE said: "We are delighted that Mark is joining us here in Dubai. We have the largest specialist construction team in the Gulf and Mark's considerable experience will enable us to develop our disputes practice yet further , particularly given his expertise advising Asia-based clients in their overseas markets.
Mark Roe, Head of Pinsent Masons International Construction group commented: "Mark's appointment reinforces Pinsent Masons' continued commitment to international growth and the Gulf region in particular. Mark will continue to work closely with colleagues in Pinsent Masons offices throughout the UK and Asia and our colleagues at Salans as part of our international strategic alliance."
