In Brief magazine: e-LOTIES awards 2003
The leading lights of legal technology were recognised in a prize-giving ceremony at London’s Madame Tussaud’s on September 18. Hosted by legal magazine, In Brief, in association with Legal Technology Insider, a total of 13 awards were presented to leading vendors, law firms and individuals in the legal technology sector.
Conceived following the success of In Brief’s LOTIES awards, the e-LOTIES are intended to showcase the latest innovation in e-commerce, knowledge management and web-based legal technology. Over 200 guests attended this inaugural event and over 12,000 votes were cast.
Winners on the night included iManage as ‘e-LOTIES vendor of the year’; Wragge & Co’s Derek Southall, as ‘best online legal services champion,’ Richards Butler, as ‘best law firm library/information services team,’ and Reynolds Porter Chamberlain, as ‘best big law firm website’ and Divorce-Online Limited as ‘best online legal services website’.
Compèred by industry guru Charles Christian the evening also featured a champagne reception, stand-up comedian Jimmy Bright, entry to Madame Tussaud’s Premier Nights and Incredible Hulk exhibits, a gala dinner and disco dancing.
Notable guests attending included Berwin Leighton Paisner IT director Janet Day, Richards Butler managing partner Roger Parker and Jonathan Ames, editor of The Law Society Gazette and Mark Keenan, the Managing Director of Divorce-Online Limited.
