Revamped Classic Car Classified Ads Website Makes It Even Easier To Buy and Sell

Pressbox (Press Release) - Timeless Rides has recently revamped their website, making it even easier for classic car owners to buy and sell their collector cars for free. Visitors can browse the classic cars for sale which include up to 10 high quality photos. All ads are free to post by sellers, and the site includes forums and show event listings.

The site may not be that unique compared to other similar websites, except for the free part. Dan Fehn, creator and website administrator for Timeless Rides, was looking for an old classic car to buy online a few years back, and was amazed by the amount some websites in the field were charging to post classified ads. “Not only was I floored by some of the high prices, but the quality of some of these sites were subpar to be charging that much. Slow loading, small amount or low quality of images, and seller privacy were all issues I saw on other websites in the industry”. Dan decided to use his past web design experience to build a website that would address these issues.

After talking to classic car owners at car shows and auctions, he found that most classic car sellers were near retirement age, meaning they likely do not use computers or are intimidated by them. Dan decided to make sure the website was easy to post classified ads, and user security was a big priority. “I noticed on many websites that the seller’s email address was plastered on every ad, meaning that many sellers would soon be slammed with spam in their inboxes due to online email robot harvesters. Not only that, but the seller had no way to hide their email address from everyone.” All ad posters on Timeless Rides have the ability to choose whether their phone number or address is shown, and the email link is encrypted so spiders cannot spam it. Furthermore, if you decide not to display your email address a potential buyer can still contact the seller through a contact form, and only then can the seller contact the potential buyer and share his contact information.

Future plans for the site include speeding up the site drastically and adding the capability of video ads, all for free. Studies show video classified ads are viewed tens of times more than the average classified ad. Even a 30 second video clip from a digital camera of your classic car starting up, the engine revving, or doing a burnout can drastically improve the number of viewers to an ad, helping the seller sell their car faster and sometimes for more money. A classified ads section for parts and tools will also be in the works for the future.
