NOW WOMEN CAN MAKE THEIR BIG IDEA HAPPEN!

This weekend saw the launch of ‘Have you really thought about this?’ and ‘Have you ever wondered whether?,’ two programmes for women who want to make a change in their lives.

The idea was sparked after overhearing two women talking in a coffee shop about how they would love to do something different but find they “just kept thinking about it and couldn’t seem to make a decision or move forward.”

These programmes are the brainchild of Stephanie Butland, who runs training courses for businesses but wanted to make the tools used to great effect by organisations available to individual women.

Stephanie says, “I have spent the last few years working with companies of many different sizes and backgrounds, helping them to enhance thinking and performance. By far the best and most powerful tool I have come across in my work is Edward de Bono's Six Thinking Hats.

After listening to those women talk – and realising how many other conversations like that I had been part of with girlfriends over the years – I decided to launch haveyouthoughtabout.com to make this amazing tool available to people who could really use it, but have never been offered the opportunity - women with great ideas, or women who are looking for ways to fulfil their potential.

I’ve also realised that, like me, many women are looking for new ways of working which allow them to have a better balance between work and home life, with the majority looking to spend more quality time with their loved ones.

The result is that I have found that rather than something I might do once in a while, these programmes are becoming the main part of my business.”

Delegates describe the programme as “inspirational”, “motivating” and “life changing”:
“I was really excited about this and wasn’t disappointed – I do feel inspired to try it out immediately in order to make real decisions”
“The course was just what I was looking for to focus me on my idea. I find I spend too much time mulling over things and now I have the tools to make effective decisions quickly.”

NOTES TO EDITORS

Stephanie Butland is one of only 60 de Bono accredited trainers in the UK, and a director of Promise Development Ltd
Programmes take place in London, Edinburgh, Oxford, Southampton, Newcastle and Manchester in the first half of 2006. They are one day programmes limited to 8 women and costing £295 including VAT, lunch, and a comprehensive training and resource pack
Edward de Bono is generally accepted as the world's greatest authority on thinking skills. He has spent many years developing tools and techniques which are easy to learn, easy to apply and extremely effective. In the UK women’s entrepreneurship is only 46% compared to men, while in the USA this figure is 89%. If the UK matched the US we would have 750,000 more businesses run by women in the UK.
