Added: (Fri May 18 2001)
London, 18 May 2001, Internet Business Group plc (AIM:IBG), the professional services company, has, in association with Nai Roshni Partnership, developed a fully robust and scalable website from scratch providing a dynamic web presence for the Nai Roshni Partnership. The site, www.nairoshni.org.uk, was produced to provide a comprehensive local database and up-to-date information about enhancing the quality of life within Slough.
The Nai Roshni Partnership is a joint partnership between Slough Council and local businesses seeking to work together to implement a Programme of Improvement in Slough. Nai Roshni, which means ‘New Dawn’, was formed in 1997 to address and challenge the lack of opportunities imposed by employment, prejudice, discrimination, disaffection and disadvantage.
The new site is a type of Extranet that also serves as a virtual community whose objective is to bring local organisations together to exchange ideas and share information. Each section of the site publishes comprehensive information ranging from a calendar of local events; a members’ address book; online discussion forums; latest news; access to current projects progress reports and links to other related resources like Slough Young People Centre (www.sypc.co.uk).
As Nai Roshni’s website is heavily data driven because the need to retrieve and exchange information is critical, Internet Business Group has implemented a set of content management tools that gives Nai Roshni’s members full control over the content information that appear on the website.
Simon Crossley, Development Officer of Nai Roshni said: “As with Slough Borough Council, Internet Business Group has helped achieved our objectives by providing us the knowledge, technology, skill sets and professional services which are of value. We are delighted to be working with Internet Business Group on this.”
Rick Bothamley, Chief Internet Architect of Internet Business Group said: “We are pleased that our content management suite has helped Nai Roshni achieved its goals and reduce the cost of ownership of the site without employing a permanent webmaster.”
