Calderdale council set to switch on the Christmas fun for Halifax!

Added: (Sat Oct 10 2009)

Pressbox (Press Release) - There is plenty of Christmas cheer in Halifax this year for local people and visitors to enjoy.

The town’s Christmas lights will be switched on in a special event at the Piece Hall, Halifax, on Saturday 21 November, marking the beginning of the Christmas festivities.

The town’s lights are being revamped this year, replacing the town’s 30 year-old lights, and will include a new neon ‘exploding firework’ display at Bull Green roundabout.

Calderdale council is organising many other events to transform the area into a winter wonderland including an ice skating rink at the Piece Hall, a snowballing area, ice wall and Victorian Christmas market.

For those looking for a base from which to enjoy these activities, the attractive market town of Hebden Bridge, is just 15 minutes from Halifax.

Hebden Bridge is a magnet for tourists who come to enjoy its original shops and galleries, organic food outlets, restaurants and bars, fabulous walks and cycle ways, and surrounding countryside and attractions.

The town offers a good range of accommodation, including Croft Mill, a recently converted luxury 4-star Mill.

Croft Mill, is in the heart of Hebden Bridge, and offers 12 immaculate and stylish 4-star self-catering apartments for up to 45 guests.

The accommodation ranges from Standard to a luxury Penthouse, so that there is something to suit all tastes and budgets and there is even a rooftop conservatory, which is available for small functions.

The Croft Mill website at www.croftmill.com contains photography and a virtual tour of each luxurious apartment and there are more special offers as well as a booking enquiry form, a list of local events and information about the town and surrounding area.
