Be smart when buying virtual game currency on the Internet
I have mentioned on too many occasions to gamers who buy game currency (wow, ffxi, EQ etc) on the Internet. Be Careful, Be Smart, Be Logical, Pay attention to small details. Below are a few things you could do before putting your money to the risk.
1. Reputable site usually have trusted seal like APPROVED WEBSITE. This seal acknowledge that the site you visit are genuine and trustable. You can also click onto the logo to submit feedback. If the link DON’T work, try to avoid buying from them as it might be just a logo scam site put up to fool you.
2. Most sites accept Paypal as a form of payment. Using Paypal is one of the best ways to check the site reputation. You can log into your Paypal account and try sending a $0.01 to the site Paypal account. Before you click on the confirmation button to send the cash you can check what is the rating of their Paypal account and the age of the account. A high rating (anything above the range of 18,000 is safe) and the Paypal account should be one that is at least 1.5 years old and not anything that is registered 1-3 months ago.
3. All good sites should have a 24/7 real time web chat for you to contact them in case of any enquires or problem you have.
4. Remember, there is no free lunch. If the deal is too good to be true, well it’s not true!!! I would rather pay a few dollars extra to have a peace of mind than not getting anything for what I pay for.
