PARIS, France (May 2, 2001) - Antepo, a leading multi-access (WAP, SMS, desktop, Web) messaging software provider adds an enhanced desktop client to the large range of channels already supported by its Instant Messaging (IM) engine. This new client has been optimised to run on Windows 9x/NT/2000 and complies with the demanding standards of both consumer and corporate IM usage
IM, a dual end-to-end communication application for consumer and corporate users
Antepo has developed a carrier-class instant messaging engine that can be turned into a mass-market peer-to-peer application or a corporate collaborative tool. Antepo’s IM solution allows any wireline or wireless device to tap network-based instant communication, presence notification and file transfers through SMS, WAP and Web interfaces. It grants end-users full interoperability with leading IM providers, letting them coordinate all their IM accounts from a single, multi-channel interface. Antepo’s IM expertise is brought to carriers and service operators who seek opportunities to offer richer and more personalized private-label services to their increasingly mobile subscriber base.
On the corporate side, IM is also poised to experience high growth in user adoption and message traffic. According to IDC, the number of worldwide instant messaging corporate users will increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 140%, from 5.5 million in 2000 to more than 180 million in 2004. Antepo helps enterprises and organizations create an integrated collaborative environment, embedding IM functions, presence awareness, and availability controls into their existing intranet and extranet while complementing and augmenting traditional tools such as email.
Sharing information and knowledge permanently and seamlessly
“IM is perfect for businesses that require instant, private and secure network solutions for nonverbal communications, along with streamlined communication flows and increased knowledge-sharing and productivity”, Max Seguineau, Antepo’s Chairman, says. “With this new client, Antepo offers a comprehensive collaborative system that can be installed within our customers’ existing communication infrastructure, behind their firewalls. It fits their core requirements in terms of organizational flexibility, cost-efficiency and security: group messaging, skills and competences syndication, real-time access to mission-critical and time-sensitive information, secured access and encryption.”
Unlike most corporate IM products, Antepo’s solution is a truly multi-access application enabling users out of their offices or involved in field operations to share the same information from desktops, cellphones and handheld devices alike. Antepo’s IM solution enables geographically distributed workgroups to communicate and exchange files seamlessly and fills a gap between email and voice calls in terms of disruption, urgency and cost. For IT managers, it avoids significant data storage and load on bandwidth while ensuring content security and control over access.
Max Seguineau adds: “The value delivered to the end-user, whether individual or corporate, lies in the multiple ways of creating, accessing and sharing self-generated information. Given time, location and context, people have various preferences and Antepo builds software products that meet their pluralist needs.”
Demonstration clients can be made available upon request.
