A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words. A Dynamic Scrapbook is Worth a Million.
Picture a dynamic scrapbook of Paris that will take you along the Champs Elysees, down the River Seine, and up the Eiffel Tower.

Monsey, NY – July 15, 2008 – Finally, a dynamic scrapbook that tells the whole story.

The problem:
Chances are you’ve seen more than one scrapbook in your life. Try to remember what you felt as you turned the pages in the scrapbook. You probably noticed the creatively cropped photographs, the memorable quotes, and ultra-chic scraps. But did it come alive for you? Most likely it was an abstract experience, with more emphasis on the design than on the story.

The Solution:
Imagine a scrapbook that takes you from beginning to end in a captivating manner. Imagine a scrapbook of Paris that will take you along the Champs Elysees, down the River Seine, and up the Eiffel Tower. Or a baby scrapbook that makes you feel as if you were there at the birth, from the hectic check-in up to the moment of the baby’s hearty first cry.

This is the scrapbook as envisioned by scrapbookfly.com. Scrapbookfly layouts are
designed to be dynamic and tell the whole story. This is accomplished by guiding the user to insert their photos in a layout in sequential order, from beginning to end. Each page represents a chapter in the story; thus, each layout has a photo and text area, which encourages the user to write a few personalized lines describing the overall mood and vibe of the photo. A story can be as few as 3 or as much as 20 pages long. The story comes together beautifully when the layouts are uploaded to an album on the scrapbookfly website. The album scrolls to the left, and the story comes alive on the screen, very much like a moving filmstrip.

The inspiration:
Esther, a graphic designer and creator of scrapbookfly, explains: “I had been to Italy, and couldn’t wait to share my photos with family and friends. I shopped at a popular scrapbook store, and sure enough I found many papers and stickers with a travel theme. Still, when my scrapbook was complete, I felt it was too generic. It was no different than a travel brochure!”

So then – “I decided to design my own scrapbook kit, aptly titled “Trip to Italy”. As I created the pages, I focused on expressing the mood and vibe I felt when I took those photos. I wanted it to come alive for everybody. To pull the viewer in, I kept the photos rather large in size and included personal writings on each page. The feedback from my friends was overwhelmingly convincing in its similarity. They all said, ‘I felt like I was there for a moment!’ Touché! That is exactly what I wanted to accomplish.”

Now you can do the same. Download a scrapbook kit from scrapbookfly.com, insert your images in the layout, and upload the finished layout to an album on the scrapbookfly site. Kits and albums are FREE.
