of its extensive security functionality

AppGate, the leading provider of secure application connectivity technology, today announced that they have won the highly prized Swedish Software Product of the Year Award. This annual award was presented by publishers E+T in recognition for developing a flexible security solution, offering comprehensive functionality and succinct administration, providing control over access rights using established standards that can be used on internal and external networks.

AppGate’s solution combines a rules based system to control personal access to applications, supporting strong encryption and authentication methods, protecting applications from unauthorised access. The solution’s scalability and flexibility makes implementation possible in the existing IT infrastructure. It can then grow and adapt with the organisation’s continued development.

AppGate’s CEO, Leif Åkesson, who collected the award with Thomas Olovsson, CTO, commented: “To win the most prestigious category, the Software Product of the Year, as we did, requires both the best technology and a proven market success.”

Also known as The Golden Mouse Award, the Swedish Software Product of the Year is given to stimulate product development and draw attention to both Swedish individuals and organisations that bring information technology to the fore.
