Brokers will receive a fee if an Individual Voluntary Arrangement is taken out, but the Debt Advice Portal will ensure that they retain an ongoing relationship with their client should they be eligible for a remortgage further down the line.

Nick Du Boulay, director of the Debt Advice Portal, says: �Excessive debt is a major
issue and, for many people, an IVA is the most appropriate option.
