Trenitalia: “A more competitive way to travel in Italy”

Trenitalia, the transportation arm of Italian Railways “Ferrovie dello Stato” will be present with its own stand at the forthcoming World Travel Market in London, from 9th to 12th November 2009.
On Tuesday 10th November a conference is scheduled at the Trenitalia stand EM390 at 11:00 hours to introduce Trenitalia’ offer as “A more competitive way to travel in Italy”, to the trade and to the press. The event, in which the top management of Trenitalia’ Sales Department will take part, has been organized in cooperation with the Italian Tourist Board and is taking place two weeks after the Rome press conference of last 28th October, about the upcoming Winter offer as announced by Mauro Moretti, CEO at Ferrovie dello Stato (Italian Railways).
From 13th December 2009 the Italian High Speed rail line (Turin - Milan - Rome - Naples - Salerno) will be completed and service level with trains Frecciarossa and Frecciargento (Red Arrow and Silver Arrow) will be increased. Trenitalia’ “Frecce” (arrows) will be connecting the whole country, from North to South, offering customers faster connections, increased comfort and top quality services.
The ETR 500 Frecciarossa train, running on High Speed tracks at the maximum speed of 360 km/h, has been carrying more than one million passengers a month during the current year, therefore playing a leading role in the Italian travel culture and life style.
The ETR 600 Frecciargento is the brand new Trenitalia’ High Speed train. With a maximum speed of 280 km/h this last generation Pendolino is excellent in performance both on High Speed and conventional lines.
During the 28th October Rome conference Mauro Moretti pointed out that Frecciarossa and Frecciargento’ high quality service is related to the “top level” comfort, in addition to the speed and frequency of connections offered.

After the official presentation in Italy, Trenitalia’s presence at the London’s prestigious WTM is aimed to introduce the new offer coming into force on 13th December to the professionals in the world of tourism.
