The JTM of Travel hits Teenage Jews
At a time where all a teenage Jew in Britain can expect from an organised tour is a sponsored trip to Israel, today’s UK launch of JTM, a tour operator which specialises in destinations other than Israel, is a refreshing change that is expected to attract many fans.
The World Travel Market which is taking place in ExCeL this week sees many products and services launched, but the Jewish community, especially the young Jewish community, rarely gets to benefits from it as greatly as this time.
There have been many travel initiatives and organised tours aimed at the Jewish teenage market, but all have one thing in common – destination Israel. This was the drive behind the idea that originally saw this service launched in France – to offer an opportunity to young Jews to discover the rest of the world in the company of people of a similar age and background. The staggering success in France, with hundreds of children attending trips to London, New York, Florida, the French Alps, and Spain, eventually led to today’s launch.
From next month JTM will offer worldwide adventure travel to young British Jews, with the first trip, an 8-day tour and ski package to NYC already taking in registrations; further 10-day trips during the February half-term to NYC or Florida (Orlando and Miami), as well as ski camps in the French Alps, are also offered.
All trips run in parallel with French and other European groups, offering the additional advantage of meeting Jewish teenagers from other countries while learning and sharing exciting cultures and languages, a unique added dimension to the travel experience.
Mr Edward Copperman, Marketing Director, says: “The response we received during our research here was overwhelmingly positive. We are looking to offer several US and France destinations in the first year, and are adding 4 more thrilling and exciting destinations from next year, including extreme sports, safaris, and rainforests. This is really every girl and boy’s dream”
Mr Richard Ouazan, Travel Director, says: “We are aware of the current financial climate and that many people cannot, at the moment, take the time off work to go on the usual family holiday their kids expect. We are here to do that for you, expertly taking care of your kids, for a price well below the market average, giving you a mini holiday at home, while your kids enjoy an unforgettable holiday for which they will never stop thanking you”.
The first trip will take place between 23/12 to 02/01, with 5 days spent in NYC and 4 days on the slopes of Jiminy Peak in Massachusetts. Ages 14 – 19. £1490 all inclusive. Details subject to confirmation and contract.
