Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort, Kota Kinabalu shares Christmas joy with charity homes

Pressbox (Press Release) - Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort, Kota Kinabalu shared Christmas joy with over 94 underprivileged children from charity homes during the annual Christmas Children’s Party held at the resort on 14 December 2007.

The charity homes included Bukit Harapan Home, Seri Mengasih Centre, Taman Didikan Kanak-Kanak Kurang Upaya Sembulan, Sabah Cheshire Home, Sekolah Pendidikan Khas Kota Kinabalu, Rumah Kanak-Kanak Kota Kinabalu, Jireh Home and Sabah Thalassaemia Society.

The children were treated to a luxurious high-tea buffet of festive treats including Christmas Cookies, Chicken Boxing, Potato Salad with Beef Bacon, Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Miniature American Brownies, an assortment of ice cream and more.

Bodycare Events Workshop provided entertainment for the children with a doll dance performance, which was followed by loads of fun and games such as statue dancing, pass the parcel, dress the mummy and musical bum. Santa and his “Santarinas” distributed sweets to all of the children, and each child was also given a Christmas present by Mr. Matthias Roeke, the resort’s general manager.

The highlight of the evening was the Christmas tree-lighting ceremony where all the decorative lights in the resort were lit up simultaneously, creating a colourful display. The event ended with a selection of divine Christmas carols sung by the resort’s staff and hotel guests.
