One dollar from one million people, is this possible?

Pressbox (Press Release) - On facebook today I was suggested a page ‘one dollar from one million people’
I thought this was a very clever idea, I had heard about the million dollar homepage and what a success that was so I thought I would check out this guys website.
He claims to be a regular guy working a a 40 hour per week job at a hotel, he wants to show his girlfriend ‘Adele’ and his dog ‘Rascal’ that he can achieve anything he puts his mind to.
For the $1 donation he will put your name on his homepage linking to a website of your choice, this is the “thanks” section of the homepage, I saw a few names there today already so his plan is working.

I decided to contact him via Facebook to see what he had to say.
His name is Richard Kenny and he lives in Christchurch, New Zealand.
I asked him why he did this and where he got the idea from,
“My brother posted up on Facebook ‘How can I get one million people to give me one meesly dollar’ so I thought I’ll show him how!”
“A lot of people always come up with great ideas but never act on them, I decided to act on this one and look what happens, I have already had donations from complete strangers which is awesome, I’m really thinking big with this and I have complete faith in it coming to fruition, it’s actually very exciting”
I then asked him what he will do with all of the money being donated,
“I will definitly donate some to charity, if you look on the website I make a mention about karma, the people donating are doing so out of wanting to help me and in turn I want to help people too, what goes around comes around. I also want to buy my own house, that’s the big one. I told my brother I would shout him a holiday too.haha”

Although not a new idea it is one one many people have thought about over the years, I know I have so I must commend Richard for taking action on this one, he seems like an honest guy just wanting to prove to those around him that anything is possible.
I would imagine once the media gets wind of this story their ears will prick up, it is an interesting story about a normal hard working guy with big dreams and he is convinced it will work due to the interest only 2 days in.

Since joining the Facebook fanpage I have recommened it to my friends and wish him all the best to succeed, It sure does feel good doing something good to help somebody else…especially when it only costs $1!
